Archivio di Storia delle Donne

Archivio di Storia delle Donne opened to the public in 2007 and was immediately recognized as an institution of historical interest by the Archival Superintendency for Emilia Romagna. The archive gathers a substantial heritage of written, sound and visual documentation relating to the period between the 1970s and 2006.

It is divided into three sections:

> Archivio dell’Associazione Orlando e del Centro di Documentazione delle Donne di Bologna: it includes documents produced by Centro di Documentazione, Iniziativa e Ricerca delle Donne di Bologna and Associazione Orlando during its almost 40 years of activity. It also collects a vast documentation material dealing with the history of feminist collectives, political groups, organizations and events in Italy and around the world.

> Archivio del Gruppo di ricerca per la storia del movimento delle donne in Emilia Romagna negli anni Settanta e Ottanta: it collects individual interviews, group interviews and paper documentation collected during the research conducted in the Eighties and published as Il movimento delle donne in Emilia-Romagna: alcune vicende tra storia e memoria (1970-1980) by Centro di Documentazione, Iniziativa e Ricerca delle Donne di Bologna in 1990.

> Archivio sonoro di storia delle donne: it includes 643 audio recordings related to the activities of Associazione Orlando and Centro di Documentazione, Iniziativa e Ricerca delle Donne di Bologna from its origins to 2005.

National and international conferences, conventions, seminars, group works, individual and collective interviews are consultable according to privacy laws.

To these collections were also added personal archives donated by important feminists. These personal archives are currently under reorganization.

In particular:
